Ending the trail on our walk is a swamp of honest-to-God quicksand. Sonia demonstrates by stepping into the still waters of the jungle wamp and sinking her knee-high boots into the muck. With an incredible sucking noise and help from another hiker, she then pulls herself out of the mess, almost losing a boot in the process.
